Ismatullah Nasruddin, First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, who is visiting Tehran to participate in the Meeting of Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states, met on Tuesday with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister.
Araghchi, referring to President Pezeshkian’s recent visit to Dushanbe and expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the Tajik government and people, described the outlook for relations between the two kindred nations—bound by shared culture and language—as highly promising.
He expressed hope that the implementation of agreements reached during the visit would open a new chapter of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
Highlighting the importance and sensitivity of ongoing regional developments, the Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized the necessity of maintaining close and continuous consultations between the two sides.
The First Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan characterized the trajectory of bilateral relations and cooperation as highly positive and expanding. He affirmed that the leadership of Tajikistan is firmly committed to further strengthening and deepening ties across all areas of mutual interest.
He also welcomed the recent removal of visa requirements for air travel between the two countries and expressed optimism that increased travel by tourists and businesspeople would further enhance people-to-people exchanges, as well as economic, trade, and tourism cooperation.
