Iranian, Turkish FMs talk bilateral ties, Syria
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan held a telephone conversation on Thursday night to discuss issues related to bilateral relations and developments in Syria.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, held a telephone conversation on Thursday night to discuss issues related to bilateral relations and developments in Syria. During the call, Araghchi reiterated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s principled policy of supporting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He emphasized the necessity of avoiding internal conflicts and forming an inclusive government with the participation of all political, ethnic, and religious groups in Syria. Araghchi also expressed concern over reports of arbitrary actions by armed groups against ordinary civilians in areas populated by Shia and Alawite communities. He stressed the need to safeguard the rights of minorities.
