U.S. UK military strikes on Yemen constitute acts of aggression
Irans spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the renewed U.S. and U.K. military strikes targeting infrastructure in Yemen’s Sana’a Al-Hudaydah and Amran provinces.
Iran's spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the renewed U.S. and U.K. military strikes targeting infrastructure in Yemen’s Sana’a, Al-Hudaydah, and Amran provinces. Esmail Baqaei asserted that such criminal actions will not weaken the steadfast resolve of the heroic Yemeni people in their expression of support for and solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine. Baqaei highlighted that the repeated aggressions by the United States and the United Kingdom against Yemen’s infrastructure are carried out in support of the Zionist regime and as an extension of the ongoing genocide against Palestinians. He described these attacks as blatant violations of international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter, constituting "crimes of aggression" as defined under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. Baqaei slammed the United Nations Security Council’s inaction regarding the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the military assaults by the U.S., U.K., and the Zionist regime on Yemen’s vital infrastructure. He called out the UN Security Council’s clear failure to fulfill its obligations to halt "aggressive acts" and "repeated breaches of peace," holding the complicit states accountable for their international responsibility in creating this situation. Baqaei urged the international community, particularly Islamic and regional countries, to take decisive action to end the occupation, genocide, and aggressions committed by the Zionist regime and its supporters against the peoples of the region.
