Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Pakistani counterpart Jalil Abbas Jilani have held a telephone conversation over the latest status of ties between Tehran and Islamabad.   While expressing pleasure at the friendly relations between the two countries, Amirabdollahian underlined the need for continuation of cooperation and close contacts between officials of both sides in different areas.   He stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of neighboring Pakistan, which he described as a friend of Iran and a brotherly nation.   Amirabdollahian went on to say that Iran cares much about Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.   He called the security of Pakistan the security of the Islamic Republic of Iran and made it clear that the group calling itself Jaish ul-Adl is a terrorist entity that acts against the common security of the two countries.   The Iranian foreign minister stressed that Iran's security has been repeatedly threatened by this terrorist group from inside Pakistan, and it has repeatedly claimed responsibility for acts of terror in Iran.   Amirabdollahian added that the anti-terror operation of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Tuesday was against this Iranian terrorist group and no Pakistani nationals were attacked in the operation.   He described the continuation of dialogue, consensus and cooperation between the two sides on bilateral issues including terrorist groups as important. Referring to the numerous conversations between the military and security officials of Iran and Pakistan, Amirabdollahian voiced hope that the exchanges of views are on the right track and continue toward stronger security cooperation.   The Pakistani foreign minister for his part referred to the common goals of his country and Iran and the two countries defending each other as well as fighting terrorism, noting that the security of Iran is also the security of Pakistan and the Pakistani government has dealt with any threat from Pakistani soil against the Islamic Republic of Iran.   He also enumerated the many areas of cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad and asked the Iranian side to provide Pakistan with information about terrorist groups in Pakistan in line with joint cooperation between the two countries.   Jilani underscored that Pakistan expects that terrorist groups operating on its soil to be dealt with by Pakistani forces themselves.
