Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Second Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah Secretary-General of Hezbollah
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
إِنَّ اللَّهَ اشْتَرَى مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ، يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَيَقْتُلُونَ وَيُقْتَلُونَ، وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ وَالْقُرْآنِ، وَمَنْ أَوْفَى بِعَهْدِهِ مِنَ اللَّهِ، فَاسْتَبْشِرُوا بِبَيْعِكُمُ الَّذِي بَايَعْتُمْ بِهِ، وَذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ

The second anniversary of the martyrdom of the great Lebanese man and tireless mujahid of the Islamic world, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary-General of Hezbollah of Lebanon, is an opportunity to honor a man who devoted his blessed life to advancing Islam, upholding the dignity and independence of Lebanon, defending the Palestinian cause, and confronting the occupation and expansionism of the Zionist enemy.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran honors the memory and path of Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Martyr Sayyed Hashem Safieddine and other great figures and companions of the blessed tree of resistance, and pays tribute to the lofty soul of the martyred Leader of the Ummah, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Martyr Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
Honoring the memory of Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and the other martyrs of the path of resistance, from General Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis to Ismail Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar and Mohammad al-Ghamari, as well as the many honorable women and men and innocent children who have been martyred in the course of defending human dignity and honor against terrorism, occupation and colonial-Zionist-American domination, is an act of paying tribute to a school and an ideology that does not tolerate submission to oppression and is unwilling to sacrifice human dignity and honor in the face of occupation, apartheid and bullying.
Over three decades of wise leadership of the Lebanese resistance against the aggression and occupation of the Zionists and their American supporters, the great Nasrallah established an unparalleled model of courage, insight, prudence and power in confronting the most sinister mafia gang in history, the impact of which will remain forever alive in the minds and culture of the people of Lebanon and the region. Undoubtedly, today the people of Lebanon and the region understand the value and significance of his struggle more than they did during his physical lifetime. Today, the people of Lebanon, the region and the world more than ever recognize this reality: confronting the occupation and warmongering of a racist and authoritarian regime that recognizes no limits in its crimes and brutality and honors no pledge or commitment requires the continuation of dignified resistance.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again strongly condemns the heinous and unforgivable crime committed by the Zionist terrorists in their attack on Lebanon and the assassination of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and his loyal companions, including Martyr General Abbas Nilforoushan, and reminds all countries of their moral and international legal duty to prosecute and punish the perpetrators and masterminds of this crime. Undoubtedly, neither the passage of time nor the repetition and accumulation of crimes will cause the slightest weakening of the demand for justice and the punishment of criminals.
The Islamic Republic of Iran, recognizing Lebanon's critical position as a country situated in the vicinity of an occupying and terrorist entity, remains steadfast in its principled position of supporting Lebanon's independence, territorial integrity, sovereignty and national unity, and believes that a strong and independent Lebanon, capable of defending its people and territory, is one of the pillars of lasting stability and security in the entire region.
