Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the blatant ceasefire violation by the United States

The terrorist U.S. military in continuation of its illegal and unjustified actions since the ceasefire was declared on April 8 2026 particularly its numerous instances of maritime piracy against Iranian commercial vessels has committed a grave violation of the ceasefire in the Hormozgan region over the past 48 hours.

The commission of these aggressive acts, coinciding with the ongoing diplomatic process mediated by Pakistan, has once again exposed the malice and bad faith of the U.S. ruling establishment to the Iranian nation, the people of the region, and the international community. It also demonstrated that the principled approach of the Iranian nation — across all three arenas of the battlefield, the streets, and diplomacy — which is based on profound mistrust toward the U.S. regime, is rooted in logic and a deep understanding of the spiteful, criminal nature and conduct of that regime against the Iranian people.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns these aggressive acts, which constitute a clear violation of Paragraph 4 of Article 2 of the United Nations Charter as well as the ceasefire dated April 8, 2026, and holds the U.S. regime fully responsible for all consequences arising from these aggressive actions.

There is no doubt that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not leave any act of malice unanswered and will entertain the slightest hesitation in defending Iran's sovereignty.
