Iranian and Pakistani foreign ministers discuss bilateral ties and other issues

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi who is visiting Islamabad at the head of an official delegation met and held talks on Monday morning with Mr. Mohammad Ishaq Dar Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan at the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

 

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who is visiting Islamabad at the head of an official delegation, met and held talks on Monday morning with Mr. Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, at the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest state of bilateral relations and ways to further strengthen the ties between the two neighboring countries in various fields.

 

Iran’s foreign minister referred to the good relations between Iran and Pakistan since the latter’s establishment and also the deep cultural, civilizational, and historical bonds between the two nations, stressing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s determination to use these significant foundations to expand bilateral relations within the framework of good neighborliness policies.

 

Araghchi also underlined the strategic importance of peace and stability in the region for both Iran and Pakistan, reiterating the principled stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the necessity of preventing the escalation of tensions in West Asia and the Indian subcontinent.

 

The top Pakistani diplomat for his part expressing pleasure with the continuation of good and friendly relations between the two countries.

 

He then stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral and multilateral engagements to serve the common interests of the two nations.

 

 

The meeting also included discussions and exchanges of views on the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and the West Asia region as well as the need for Islamic countries to take serious measures to stop the genocide in Gaza and prevent the growing insecurity in the region caused by the ongoing aggression of the Zionist regime against Lebanon and Syria.
