Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri had a phone conversation with the top Turkish diplomat Hakan Fidan to discuss bilateral ties and the latest developments on the Zionist regime’s crimes against the Palestinian people.

The senior Iranian diplomat thanked Turkey for sending a delegation to attend the 19th Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) member states’ foreign ministerial meeting in Tehran.

He stressed the further employment of the capacities of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in pushing forward the goals of independent countries and the region.

Bagheri also shed light on the Zionist regime’s savage crimes against the people in Gaza, saying, the regime’s threats against Lebanon are the continuation of its crimes against the people in Gaza and indicate the barbaric nature of this regime.

“Meanwhile, the resistance in Lebanon enjoys complete readiness to deal with the Zionist regime’s threats, and the unparalleled power of the resistance in Lebanon will make any aggression costly for the aggressors,” he added.

Bagheri stated, “Just as the Zionists are incapable of restoring the situation to pre-October 7 conditions after nine months, they need to know that any new mistake in Lebanon will create new conditions at the regional level to the detriment of the Zionists, and they will not be able to make up for their strategic failure even with killings and crimes.”

Furthermore, the head of Iran’s diplomatic service underlined the necessity to expand rail transport between the two countries, saying “Activating trade and economic capacities between the two countries will lead to lasting security.”

Bagheri also said boosting cooperation between the two countries in the Caucasus within the format of 3+3 countries mechanism is of utmost significance.

For his part, the Turkish foreign minister appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s special attention to the Palestinian issue and censured the occupying regime for its crimes against the people of Gaza.

Fidan said, “Genocide goes on in Gaza and the international community is unable to stop the Zionist regime’s crimes.”

He further said, “The Zionist regime’s policy is to continue and escalate tensions across the region, and naturally the trend will have a deep impact on other regional countries as well.”

Fidan said using the capacities of regional organizations such as D-8 on the Palestinian issue is indispensable, adding, “The cooperation between Tehran and Ankara in the Palestinian issue and protecting the security and stability of the region is very crucial.”

The Turkish foreign minister also stressed enhancing bilateral ties between the two countries and welcomed promoting cooperation in rail transport and bolstering ties within the framework of regional mechanisms.
