Amirabdollahian meets Iranian embassy staff in Beirut calls for greater ties with Lebanon
Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian who was in Beirut to hold meetings and talks with Lebanese government officials and leaders of the resistance movements met on Saturday evening with the Iranian ambassador and embassy staff and representatives of some Iranian organizations and institutions residing in Lebanon in a friendly atmosphere at the embassy premises in Beirut.
Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian, who was in Beirut to hold meetings and talks with Lebanese government officials and leaders of the resistance movements, met on Saturday evening with the Iranian ambassador and embassy staff and representatives of some Iranian organizations and institutions residing in Lebanon in a friendly atmosphere at the embassy premises in Beirut.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest status of bilateral ties with the friendly and brotherly country of Lebanon, the developments in Palestine and some regional issues and exchanged views.
Amirabdollahian listened to the views and opinions of the Iranian envoy and some of the participants in the meeting.
In his remarks, he highlighted the strong political, religious, cultural, and social aspects Iran and Lebanon have in common.
The Iranian foreign minister also highlighted the need to improve and promote bilateral ties in various economic and commercial fields to the desired level by making more efforts and being in touch with Lebanon’s state and private sectors.
The top Iranian diplomat stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches great importance to Lebanon’s stability and security, saying the Arab country’s security will affect the entire region.
He noted that helping Lebanon in the political process and developing bilateral relations with the country in economic and commercial fields along with political ties are among the priorities of the incumbent government in Iran.
Amirabdollahian appreciated the valuable efforts by his colleagues at the Iranian Foreign Ministry as well as the representatives of Iranian organizations and institutions working in Lebanon and underlined the need for greater efforts, initiatives, and innovation.
