Iranian Russian FMs talk on phone discuss ties nuclear issue

Seyed Abbas Araghchi Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran held a telephone conversation with Sergey Lavrov Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held a telephone conversation with Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.

 

During the conversation, Araghchi elaborated on the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding nuclear-related issues and underscored Iran’s seriousness in advancing the talks with a view to reaching a fair and balanced agreement, while safeguarding Iran’s rights and interests in accordance with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

 

The Iranian Foreign Minister also expressed appreciation for Russia’s constructive and positive positions in international forums and briefed his Russian counterpart on the latest developments related to the course of Iran–U.S. nuclear negotiations.

 

The two sides also exchanged views on several issues concerning bilateral relations.
