Iran condemns terrorist attack on Imam Ali mosque in Syria

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baqaei strongly condemned the terrorist attack on worshippers at the Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque in Syria’s Homs province which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a number of worshippers.

He extended his condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims of this criminal act and prayed to Almighty God for the health and recovery of the injured.

 

Referring to the principled policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to firmly condemn all forms of terrorism and violent extremism, the Foreign Ministry spokesman underlined the responsibility of all parties that, through various illegal interventions, including violations of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and the occupation of parts of the country, have provided the grounds for the continuation, growth, and spread of terrorism and extremism.

 

Baqaei also called for the identification and punishment of the perpetrators and masterminds of this heinous terrorist attack, and underscored the responsibility of Syria’s transitional government in this regard.
