Iraq’s national security adviser meets with Iran’s FM Araghchi

During the meeting, Araghchi referred to the very good relations between Tehran and Baghdad in all spheres and stressed the necessity of continued regular consultations between officials of the two countries, as well as the need to strengthen cooperation in security matters, including border security.

 

Araghchi and Al-Araji also spoke about regional developments, particularly the issue of occupied Palestine. Both sides voiced concern over the continued violations of the ceasefire by the Israeli regime, stressing the responsibility of the international community to prevent genocide and crimes in Gaza and to ensure the delivery of essential supplies to its people.

 

The Iraqi side for his part presented a report on his talks in Tehran and the progress in implementing the security agreement between the two countries. He also underscored the Iraqi government’s firm determination and commitment to executing this agreement.

 

Al-Araji further praised the solidarity and national cohesion of the Iranian people in the face of foreign aggression, assuring that Iraq will never allow any threat from its territory against Iran’s sovereignty and national security.

 

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in Gaza and Lebanon. They underlined the need for efforts and cooperation among Islamic countries to counter Israeli warmongering and expansionism.
