Iran appreciates stance of Latin American countries in condemning Israeli-U.S. aggression
Eissa Kameli Assistant Foreign Minister and Director General for the Americas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed gratitude and appreciation for the responsible and principled positions adopted by the majority of Latin American countries in their unequivocal condemnation of the recent military aggression perpetrated by the Zionist regime and the United States against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Eissa Kameli, Assistant Foreign Minister and Director General for the Americas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressed gratitude and appreciation for the responsible and principled positions adopted by the majority of Latin American countries—including Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico—in their unequivocal condemnation of the recent military aggression perpetrated by the Zionist regime and the United States against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Kameli described these positions as reflective of the serious concern of these governments regarding the grave violations of international law and the Charter of the United Nations by the Zionist and the U.S. regimes.
He added: “There is no doubt that the coordinated assault by the Zionist regime and the United States on Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty constitutes a blatant violation of Article 2(4) of the UN Charter and an unprecedented blow to the non-proliferation regime. The responsibility for the consequences of this unlawful aggression lies entirely with the United States and those who support or justify the lawless conduct of the Zionist regime.”
The Director General further emphasized that the illegality and criminal nature of the acts committed by the Zionist regime and the United States in their assault on Iran are beyond dispute, and strongly criticized the positions taken by Argentina and Paraguay in support of such aggression. He described these stances as “shameful” and “reprehensible,” and underscored that, despite the widespread revulsion among the peoples of Argentina and Paraguay toward the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime, certain officials in those countries have chosen to stand on the wrong side of history by supporting a genocidal regime whose corrupt leaders are the subject of international prosecution for heinous crimes.
He said this entails the international and moral responsibility of these governments.
Kameli also condemned the offensive and inflammatory rhetoric of certain Argentine officials against Iran and stated: “To lend support to an occupying and racist regime that, in the past two years alone, has massacred nearly 60,000 innocent Palestinians—and which has a long and disgraceful record of egregious violations of legal, ethical, and humanitarian norms—brings neither honor nor credibility to its backers.”
