Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takhte Ravanchi, and his UAE counterpart Ms. Lana Nasibah headed the delegations of the two countries.
They discussed various aspects of bilateral relations, including political and economic matters.
They also held talks over regional and international
Issues.
Referring to the ongoing priority of expanding relations with neighboring countries in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Takhte Ravanchi said Iran is ready to strengthen cooperation between the two countries based on mutual interests.
He stressed the importance of the mechanism of the joint committee for political consultations and its role in helping strengthen coordination with the UAE to advance bilateral ties and exchange views on regional and international developments.
Takhte Ravanchi expressed hope that both sides would accelerate the implementation of bilateral agreements and explore new areas of cooperation by holding these meetings regularly.
While outlining Iran's position on regional and international developments, the Iranian deputy foreign minister underscored the need for unity and solidarity among Islamic countries regarding the crimes of the Zionist regime in Palestine and its destabilizing actions in the region.
He added that the upcoming meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s members will be a good opportunity to take a unified position against the dangerous Zionist-US plots for genocide and forcibly displacing the defenseless people of Gaza.
UAE Deputy Foreign Minister Ms. Lana Nasibah for her part emphasized the resolve of the high-ranking officials of the UAE and their special efforts to strengthen and comprehensively expand the relations with Iran. She voiced hope that Iran and the UAE will be able to follow up on the implementation of the agreements with better coordination through exchanges of views within the framework of the joint political consultations.
Regarding developments in Palestine, she rejected any plan for the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.
The two sides also expressed satisfaction with the convening of the joint economic commission and the consular and coast guard committees, announcing their readiness to accelerate the finalization of bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding on the agenda of Tehran and Abu Dhabi.
