Iran’s new consul general in Erbil meets with FM Araghchi before departure for post
The newly-appointed Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq’s Erbil Faramarz Asadi met with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi before leaving Tehran for his new post and presented his proposed plans for the responsibilities.
The newly-appointed Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq’s Erbil, Faramarz Asadi, met with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, before leaving Tehran for his new post and presented his proposed plans for the responsibilities.
During the meeting, the foreign minister stressed on the very good ties that exist between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq as neighboring and Muslim countries.
He underscored the importance of deepening ties in political, economic, social, and cultural spheres and optimally utilizing the capacities of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, given the numerous commonalities between the people of the Kurdistan Region and Iran.
Asadi, who has extensive experience on Iraq, previously served in the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sulaymaniyah before he was designated as the new consul general in Erbil.
