Iranian FM IAEA head hold phone conversation seek to iron out nuclear differences

Araghchi strongly criticized the unconstructive moves by certain members of the IAEA’s Board of Governors which have hindered the diector genrrals efforts to make progress in resolving safeguard issues.

 

The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, has a phone conversation on Monday with the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, to discuss the latest status of cooperation between Iran and the IAEA under the safeguards agreement.

 

Araghchi strongly criticized the unconstructive moves by certain members of the IAEA’s Board of Governors, which have hindered the diector genrral's efforts to make progress in resolving safeguard issues.

 

He reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran, just as it did not hesitate to deliver a decisive response to such actions, remains committed to constructive technical cooperation with the IAEA.

 

Grossi, in turn, reaffirmed the IAEA's resolve to engage seriously with Iran and mentioned that he had been consulting with other parties to create an environment conducive to resolving the issues that exist in the talks
