Iran FM meets UN chief UNGA chairman censures Washington as accomplice in Israeli viciousness

Araghchi deplored the UN Security Council’s failure to take any effective measure and its inability to issue even a simple statement to criticize Israels genocide and aggression.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, in separate meetings on Saturday with the United Nations’ Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the President of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) Philemon Yang, warned of the very dangerous fallout of the Zionist regime’s latest aggressive and terrorist move against Lebanon, which led to the martyrdom of the leader of Hezbollah resistance movement Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah and a group of his comrades.

He accentuated the UN’s responsibility for a swift measure to protect regional and international peace and security.

Araghchi deplored the UN Security Council’s failure to take any effective measure and its inability to issue even a simple statement to criticize Israel's genocide and aggression.

He reiterated that the UN secretary general and the UNGA president are legally and morally duty-bound to mobilize the international community to confront the occupying regime’s evil deeds.

The top Iranian diplomat slammed the US for continuous obstruction of the Security Council as ‘illegal’ and ‘disgraceful’ and also for barring any move to force the Zionist regime to stop its genocide in Gaza and aggression against Lebanon.

Araghchi said that the US is definitely an accomplice in Israel’s crimes and wickedness and the regime's using bunker-buster bombs provided as gifts by the US to assassinate resistance leaders is a clear example of US participation in Israel's crimes.

The Iranian foreign minister underlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran is resolute in fully defending its vital interests and national security against the vicious moves by the Zionist regime.

He stressed that the resistance path against the occupying Israeli aggression and occupation will continue with strength and the Zionist regime’s crimes will make the people in the region more determined to restore their inalienable rights and confront the viciousness of the Israeli regime.
