Iranian Russian foreign ministers discuss Iran’s operation against Israel regional developments

The Iranian foreign minister stressed that the limited move was meant to deter, punish and warn the Zionist regime, adding Iran will definitely give a very firm response in case the regime makes a new move against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 

Amirabdollahian hailed Russia's positive stance on Iran’s legitimate action and said Moscow has an important role in putting an end to the Zionist regime’s crimes amid the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the incessant aggression against Palestine, adding it can prevent the spiral of tensions in the region.

 

During the phone call, the Russian foreign minister deplored that some countries opposed to condemn the Zionist regime in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC)’s previous meeting for striking the Iranian Embassy in Damascus.

 

He said, “We had no doubts that Iran would respond to the Israeli regime’s attacks on the consular building of the embassy and we believe that the process of taking the action was based on a responsible response coupled with restraint.”

 

Lavrov concluded his remarks by expressing hope that the tensions in the region would be reduced, stating that, “Russia will strongly defend and support Iran’s action based on legitimate defense at the UN Security Council meeting.”
