Amirabdollahian thanked Sierra Leone for its strong stance on the issue of Palestine. Referring to the state of the war and genocide in Gaza, he said that Sierra Leone is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and the country's role in both the top body and in the African Union in supporting Palestine and South African's initiative in the International Court of Justice is important.

Amirabdollahian also spoke about Iran's proposal to hold an emergency meeting of the OIC foreign ministers in Jeddah in support of Palestine. He thanked the foreign minister of Sierra Leone for his participation in the meeting, saying that supporting Palestine is a principled and deep-rooted policy in the Islamic Republic of Iran and Tehran considers Hamas a liberation front fighting for the freedom of its land from the Zionist occupation.

Slamming US efforts to describe Hamas as a terrorist organization, he said the movement is a manifestation of Palestinian nation's resolve in the liberation of their land from the Israeli regime's occupation.

Amirabdollahian stressed that the Palestinian resistance movements have advanced and democratic ideas for running Gaza after the war and that some parties should not tie the fate of the war to this issue. The top Iranian diplomat went on to stress the need for effective and immediate action by the international community to stop the war against Gaza before the holy month of Ramadan.

Amirabdollahian invited his counterpart from Sierra Leone to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran in order to continue discussions over issues of mutual interest, which was welcomed by Musa Timothy Kabbah.

Sierra Leone's foreign minister, for his part, said he was pleased to meet Amirabdollahian and described his negotiations with the Iranian foreign minister as a very good opportunity to exchange views on issues of mutual interest between the two countries.

Musa Timothy Kabbah added that Iran and Sierra Leone have long-term and stable relations and cooperation, and his country is interested in developing bilateral cooperation and deepening friendly ties with Iran given the important place of Iran in the world and its capabilities in various fields.

Pointing to the rich resources and natural wealth of his country, Musa Timothy Kabbah welcomed the idea of cooperation with Iran in such fields as energy, science and technology.

He then expressed deep concern over the developments in Gaza and outlined his country's robust and long-term policy of supporting Palestine.
