Touching upon the Islamic Republic of Iran's military action against the Mossad-affiliated center in Erbil and the terrorist-affiliated headquarters in Idlib, Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated: “The action was taken in line with the strong defense of the country's sovereignty and security, and against terrorism."
He emphasized that it was part of the Islamic Republic's just punishment against violators of Iran’s security.
Kanaani added: “The Islamic Republic of Iran always supports peace, stability, and security in the region and adheres to the observance of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries. However, it simultaneously exercises its legitimate and legal right to deal with sources threatening national security and defense with deterrence, and without hesitation to protect the safety of its citizens and punish criminals."
He further stressed: “While the enemy committed a crime against the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran with its miscalculations, the Islamic Republic of Iran, thanks to its intelligence might, identified the criminals’ headquarters and targeted them with missiles enjoying pin-point accuracy. This action was part of the Islamic Republic of Iran's response to those threatening its national security and the safety of Iranian citizens."
Kanaani concluded: "Terrorism is a pervasive global threat, and Iran is determined to combat terrorism within the framework of joint regional and international cooperation."
