We honor the memory of the martyred diplomats, Mohammad Nasser Nasseri, Nasser Rigi, Nourollah Norouzi, Majid Nouri Niaraki, Heydar Ali Bagheri, Rashid Paryafallah, Mohammad Ali Ghiasi, Karim Heydarian, and the martyred journalist of IRNA, Mahmoud Saremi.

On August 8, 1998, the Taliban attacked the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mazar-e-Sharif and committed a crime.

 

In my first meeting with the acting FM of Afghanistan, Mr. Mulla Mataghi, I asked him to clarify their relationship with the bitter incident at the Iranian Consulate General in Mazar-e-Sharif. He replied: "There is no relationship between today’s Taliban and them. We condemn that inhumane act."

The Iranian nation will not forget this tragic incident.
