Instagram post of Iranian FM Hossein Amirabdollahian on the occasion of the Journalist Day
In my interactions with the media (particularly the respectable journalists), I always use the word colleague because I believe that a concern named national interest and national security is the point where the missions of diplomats and journalists come together.
In my interactions with the media (particularly the respectable journalists), I always use the word colleague because I believe that a concern named national interest and national security is the point where the missions of diplomats and journalists come together.
When during the attack on the Consulate General of our country in Mazar-e-Sharif, the blood of 8 martyred diplomats and Mahmoud Sarmi, an IRNA reporter, mixed together, the word "colleague" between journalists and diplomats became more real.
Whenever there are diplomatic meetings or negotiations, journalists go hand in hand with diplomats and of course endure more hardships so that efforts to achieve the rights of a nation and to keep their ideals alive will come to fruition.
At a time when spiteful enemies do not miss the slightest opportunity to attack and exact revenge on our beloved Iran, the need to strengthen the position of the media is a necessary and urgent matter. Accordingly, during my tenures from the past to the present, I have always put emphasis on the high value of the work of journalists and members of the media and within my powers, I have provided the ground for them to play a more effective role.
In the end, while honoring the memory of martyred diplomats and journalists, I congratulate all my colleagues in the media on the Journalist Day and I would like to stress that the Foreign Ministry warmly welcomes increased cooperation with the members of the media and reporters.
