Iran, China, Pakistan hold first trilateral meeting on counter-terror fight

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Rasoul Mousavi joined a first trilateral meeting with Director General of the Department of External Security of China's Foreign Ministry Bai Tian and Abdul Hameed, Director General of Counter-Terrorism Department at Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry for talks on security and anti-terror fight in Beijing.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Rasoul Mousavi joined a first trilateral meeting with Director General of the Department of External Security of China's Foreign Ministry Bai Tian and Abdul Hameed, Director General of Counter-Terrorism Department at Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry for talks on security and anti-terror fight in Beijing.

The meeting was held in the Chinese capital on Wednesday.

The three parties held in-depth negotiations on various issues, including the regional situation of dealing with terrorism and countering cross-border terrorists.

In an achievement, the parties decided to institutionalize the tripartite consultation mechanism between the Islamic Republic of Iran, China and Pakistan in the field of security and combating terrorism.

Meanwhile Mousavi and Abdul Hameed met with China’s Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong.

Beijing also hosted Iran-China talks on counter-terrorism and the China-Pakistan consultation meeting on security and counter-terrorism.
