.

The Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with the approvals of the relevant authorities and within the framework of the relevant rules and sanctions mechanisms, as a reciprocal move, imposes sanctions against the following Canadian individuals and institutions for supporting terrorism and the Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) terrorist group, inciting and encouraging terrorist acts and violence against the people of Iran, propagating false information about Iran and participation in the implementation and escalation of oppressive sanctions against the people of Iran.

Real Persons:
1) Marco Mendicino, Member of Parliament and Minister of Public Safety of Canada
2) Anita Anand, Canadian Minister of National Defense
3) Richard Wagner, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada
4) Wayne Donald Eyre, Canada's Chief of the Defense Staff
5) Eric Kenny, Commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force
6) Angus Topshee, Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy
7) Brenda Lucki, Commissioner (Chief) of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police
8) David Brown, the judge who issued the ruling on the confiscation of Islamic Republic of Iran’s assets in Canada

Legal entities:
1) The National Post, a newspaper that supports sanctions and has an anti-Iran approach

The Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes that facilitating and supporting terrorist acts and the terrorist MKO group violate the international obligations of the Canadian government in fighting terrorism and that the implementation of unilateral coercive measures (cruel sanctions) by that government is a clear violation of the fundamental principles of international rules and the principles stipulated in the United Nations Charter and makes the Canadian government internationally accountable.

According to the approvals of the relevant authorities, all institutions and bodies of the Islamic Republic of Iran will take the necessary measures to implement the sanctions, including the ban on issuing visas, the ban on entering the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, blocking bank accounts in Iran’s financial and banking system, as well as seizure of property and assets in the territory under the jurisdiction of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Obviously, the sanctions will not rule out the criminal prosecution of the individuals in competent courts of law due to their involvement in criminal actions.
