The 32nd consultative meeting between the deputy foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Japan was held in Tehran, with the participation of Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi, and Japan's Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Takehiro Funakoshi.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister emphasized the historical diplomatic ties between Iran and Japan, highlighting the importance and necessity of ongoing talks at various levels.
He called for the expansion of bilateral relations in various fields, particularly in the economic and trade sectors.
Meanwhile, Takht Ravanchi condemned the continued genocide in occupied Palestine by the Zionist regime and the expansion of the scope of its aggressions into Syria.
He stressed the shared responsibility of the international community to combat the heinous crimes, specially war crimes and genocide, urging all countries to take serious measures to stop the atrocities by the regime and prosecute its leaders.
The Iranian diplomat also appreciated Japan's more effective role in contributing to the security and stability in West Asia.
For his part, Funakoshi reiterated the historical and friendly relations between Iran and Japan, noting that the presence of a Japanese government representative at Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian's inauguration and the discussions held between the heads of both states are indicative of Japan's commitment to deepening bilateral ties.
He assessed the political consultations between the two countries on global and regional developments, especially in the current situation in West Asia, as crucial.
Funakoshi affirmed Japan's readiness to continue and deepen bilateral talks.
