Iran condemns USs arbitrary move to close Venezuelas airspace

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baqaei has slammed the US president’s decision to declare the closure of Venezuela’s airspace as a blatant violation of international norms and fundamental rules of international law including those governing international air transport.

Baqaei characterized this measure as part of Washington’s ongoing provocative and unlawful actions against Venezuela’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and as an arbitrary act and an unprecedented threat to the safety and security of international aviation.

He also warned about the dangerous consequences of this action for the rule of law, as well as for international peace and security.
