Amir Abdollahian holds talks with IAEA chief

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA, has met and held talks with Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian this afternoon.
In the meeting, Amir Abdollahian underlined the Islamic Republic of Iran’s firm determination to constructively interact with the agency within the framework of safeguards agreement. Amir Abdollahian expressed hope that during the IAEA chief’s visit to Tehran, mutual trust and bilateral cooperation will be strengthened more than ever before.
The Iranian foreign minister also stressed the significance of technical, professional and neutral work by the IAEA and the need for the agency to ignore foreign political pressures.
The IAEA director general also emphasized the Agency’s technical, professional and unbiased approach, saying his visit to Iran is a sign of determination to hold talks, mutual understanding, resolve problems and boost cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Grossi also said the IAEA is ready to resolve the remaining issues in the coming months in close cooperation with Iran.
